You’re ready to stop crashing out and finally understand what’s going on beneath the surface.

From the outside it might look like you’re managing.

You show up, you get things done, you tell people you’re fine but inside your brain won’t turn off. The smallest things may feel like too much and you’re exhausted from holding it together. Sleep is hard. Motivation comes and goes. You’re putting things off and they are piling up then feeling worse for avoiding them.

It may often feel like you've tried everything and nothing works at least not for long. You find yourself worrying constantly, caught up in things that feel outside your control.

There's no shame in needing a little extra support

That's where I come in.

Together, we'll work out why you feel the way you do and find healthier, more realistic ways to cope at a pace that's yours. You don't have to have it figured out and you don't have to do it alone.

I want you to feel like you can ask for what you need here. That isn't a detour from therapy. It's what makes therapy fit.

I don't do therapy from behind a clipboard. You'll know what I actually think, including the things that are harder to hear and nothing you bring into the room is going to surprise or overwhelm me.

Sometimes the work looks different than you'd imagined. Some of my most meaningful sessions have started with a client asking if we could do a puzzle together instead. That wasn't avoiding the work. Sitting side by side, hands busy, practicing a healthy way to cope was the work.

Lauren

My background is in intensive, in-home, and community-based behavioral interventions where the work happens in the real world, not just an office. That  shaped the way I practice today as a hands-on, grounded, and real therapist.  I’m not here to just make the anxiety or low moods disappear. I’ll help you understand where those feelings are coming from and build healthier, more realistic ways to cope so you don’t feel like you have to hold it all together on your own.

It can get better, even if you can’t picture it yet.

More About Lauren

I've spent my entire career working with and learning from teens and young adults navigating difficult things. I know that anxiety and low moods are rarely the whole story and that underneath there's usually someone exhausted from trying so hard to be okay. I don't do therapy from behind a clipboard. I’ll meet you where you are, keep it honest, and help you make sense of what you’re going through.

About

A bad fit with a past therapist doesn't mean you're beyond help. With the right relationship and a space that feels like yours, change is possible.

It can get better, even if therapy hasn't worked before.

You deserve good things on your worst day as much as on your best. Grades, performance, and how useful you are to other people don't decide it.

You don't have to earn your worth.

Needing people is part of being human, and the ones who care about you want to know what's going on. Asking for what you need is a skill we can practice, starting with me.

You are not a burden.

Nothing about what you're feeling makes you broken. We're not trying to turn you into someone else, only to help you feel at home in your own head.

"Normal" isn't the goal; feeling like yourself is.

Relying only on yourself makes sense if people have let you down, and it's exhausting. Therapy can be the first place you find out what it's like to count on someone.

You were never meant to do this alone.

Family Therapy

Help for families who want to better understand and support a struggling teen or young adult. We'll work on communication, connection, and navigating hard seasons together.

Request a 15-minute consultation to discuss fit prior to scheduling an intake. Because my schedule is based on student schedules there may be ongoing times that I won’t have an opening until the next semester.

Therapy that fits a student's schedule

For the clients I work with, this means you don't have to miss third period, explain to a teacher where you're going, or give up practice to get support.

I offer in-person sessions in my Los Gatos office and virtual sessions for clients located in California or Washington, with morning and evening appointments that fit around a typical school or class schedule. And if getting out the door is the hard part on a given day, meeting from your own room can make it possible to show up anyway.

For college students in California or Washington, virtual sessions mean therapy doesn't have to stop when you leave for campus. You can keep the same therapist as long as you're in either state.

I specialize in working with high school and college-age clients facing anxiety, depression, safety concerns, and relationship or attachment struggles. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. If you're looking for someone who will understand what you're dealing with and also help you build real skills to move forward, we may be a good match.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

I see clients Monday through Thursday, with morning and evening appointments that work around a typical school or class schedule. I don’t offer weekend sessions. Because so many of my clients are students, my hours shift each semester to match their schedules, so the best way to find out what’s open right now is to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.

What are your hours? Do you have weekend or evening appointments?

Your first session is a 75-minute intake. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your history, what’s working and what isn’t, and what you hope to get out of therapy. For teen clients, parents or guardians are usually involved for part of this first meeting, and then we’ll spend some one-on-one time together.

For family therapy, the first session is also 75 minutes, with everyone who will be part of the work in the room. Each person gets a chance to share how things feel from their side and what they’d like to be different, and I’ll make sure no one gets talked over. The goal isn’t to solve everything that day; it’s for everyone to leave feeling heard and to have a shared sense of what we’ll work on together.

What can I expect during my first session?

We typically start with weekly sessions: 60 minutes for individual therapy and 75 minutes for family therapy. As therapy progresses, we’ll evaluate together whether a different frequency would better support your goals.

How often do we meet?

I offer both. In-person sessions take place at my office at 59 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Suite I, in Los Gatos. Secure telehealth sessions are available for clients located in California and Washington.

Are sessions in person or online?

Initial intake (75 minutes): $275
Ongoing individual therapy sessions (60 minutes): $220
Ongoing family therapy sessions (75 minutes): $275

How much does therapy cost?

Seeking Solutions Therapy is an out-of-network provider and does not contract or bill directly with insurance companies. I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards, and payment is due at the time of each session. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Do you take insurance?

I’m happy to offer parent check-ins and coaching, but my role isn’t to communicate or enforce things on your behalf. If there’s something going on at home you’d like me to be aware of, I can set up a joint parent/client session. That way, we can talk it through together.

can I let you know about issues at home so you can address them with my child?

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed sessions are charged the full session fee. If you miss a session and we can reschedule within the same week, you won’t be charged again for the new time, depending on my availability. With more than 24 hours’ notice, I’m happy to reschedule when possible, though openings are more limited during the school year.

What is your cancellation policy?
